What to Do
There is much to do on the Isle of Wight in all seasons and all weathers. If you are looking for that adrenaline rush there is surfing, sailing, paragliding, horse riding, quadbikes and rib rides in the Solent. For those seeking quiet and relaxation there are many historic buildings and museums, secluded hillsides and beaches to explore. For family holidays there are many attractions for the children from adventure parks to a dinosaur museum, you can even hunt for fossils yourself along the island's famous fossil coast or just relax on the sandy beaches or try your hand at watersports.

Our recommendations for sunny days are Blackgang Chine and Robin Hill adventure parks. If you like animals there is the Isle of Wight Zoo at Sandown, Amazon World, famous for the disappearance of Toga the penguin chick, and Flamingo Park near Seaview. At Colemans Animal Farm at Porchfield you can bottle feed lambs, feed the pigs and collect the eggs. Appuldurcombe Owl and Falconry Centre has awesome displays.
For rainy days there is a big cinema complex in Newport, ice skating and bowling in Ryde. For more educational trips visit the Dinosaur Museum at Sandown or see the stunning early photographs at Dimbola Lodge at Freshwater Bay.
