Your holiday really starts at the ferry port on the south coast of England. There are a choice of routes, fast catamarans and hovercraft for day trips and three vehicle ferries if you bring your car or want to enjoay a more leisurely cruise to the Isle of Wight. You can depart from the naval dockyard of Portsmouth and see the warships and historic ships, or from the busy port of Southampton and view the massive container ships and luxury cruise liners, or from the little port of Lymington and get magnificent views of the western Solent and famous Needles rocks and lighthouse. Full details can be found in our Travel information page.
