The sandy beach is only a couple of minutes walk from the steps outside the House, where swimming, watersports and beach games can be safely enjoyed. Buses to all parts of the Island stop outside and Lake station with regular trains to Ryde, Sandown and Shanklin is approximately 10 minutes walk away. The centres of both Sandown and Shanklin can be reached by a 20 minute walk along the cliff path. See
